5000/-US Dollars Fraud from Emirates Airline.

Dear Sir/Madam
I always had a reputable opinion about Emirates Airline services & in fact, applauded them for their level of Professionalism. But my recent experience begged to differ.
This is Reference to Emirates Airline four Return Tickets (ACC-ISB-ACC).
Ticket Numbers are as under:
176 2135 869 109, 176 2135 869 110, 176 2135 869 111 & 176 2135 869 112.
Tickets were purchased on 13th March 2012 from an IATA Approved Travel & Tour Agent in Accra, Ghana. @ Cost of Five Thousand US Dollars (5000/- US Dollars) whose details are as under :
Balaji Travel & Tours Ltd. Blue Haven Boutique, Trinity House, Ring Road Opp. Fire Service Headquarters P. O. Box No. AN 6988 Accra-Ghana.
Tel: 00 233 302 770634, Fax: 00 233 302 770642, Mobile: 00 233 24 3062249
E-mail: jeetraipal@hotmail.com, balajitravel2008@gmail.com
As you can see in the ticket details I had to Travel on 1st April 2012 along with my Family (two adults and two children). When I reached to Kotoka International Airport Along with my Wife, two children & Luggage and proceeded for Check-in, the Emirates Airline staff at the counter told me that all our tickets have been refunded on 22nd March 2012 so they can’t issue us boarding pass and we can’t travel, we have to buy new tickets. Oh….. What? I was surprised that who has refunded the tickets?
I immediately called the Balaji Travel & Tours Ltd. Land lines and Mobile No. but it was in vain as Mobile No. was switched off and nobody was answering the Landline. At the Airport I even sent them an E-Mail from my Mobile but I didn’t receive any reply.
From Airport we took Taxi and went to Balaji Travel & Tours Ltd. Office but it was closed and is still closed as I am writing this complaint to you. We had to travel by all means, so I purchased all the four Return Tickets again(New) and we were only able to travel on 4th April and arrived at Islamabad on 6th April as the seats were not available and we had to reschedule our trip. For rescheduling the tickets, we had to spend lots of money. Moreover, we suffered lot of physical and mental tension.
Now we returned from our trip and it revealed that
· Owner of Balaji Travel & Tours Ltd. reported to Police that two of his expatriate Employees have stolen company properties including cash, two desktop computers, one laptop and one mobile phone (I am not sure it’s true .it seems it’s a game. How can they flee the country with two Desktop Computers?).

· The Employees disappear on 17th March 2012 and later the Director of Balaji Travel & Tours Ltd. Wrote a Memo to Emirates Airline office in Accra and collected the refund money on 22nd March 2012. (to compensate for theft loss).

· Regional Manager for Emirates Airline (Mr. Manoj Gopi Nair) teamed up with the Director/Owner of Balaji Travel & Tours Ltd. as they are Country mates and refunded him our tickets money.

· I as a Customer /Passenger paid Money (5000/- US Dollars) for Emirates Airline Tickets and I have an invoice and Four Emirates Airline Return Tickets with me.
My Complaint is that Emirates Airline refunded the four Return tickets to the Director of Balaji Travel and Tour Ltd. without informing the Customers/Passengers and cheated us
Me & My Family we are very much annoyed and frustrated about the Emirates Airline Behavior as it’s not easy to earn 5000/- US Dollars.
We’ll not spare Emirates Airline for doing this fraud with us.I, along with my family; have suffered mental, physical, and emotional distress due to the erratic, negligent, and wrongful action by Emirates Airlines. It is a real shame that what the best airline in the world has resorted to these kinds of tactics and poor after-sales service.
· Emirates Airline has to immediately remove Regional Manager West Africa (Mr. Manoj Gopi Nair) from his charge.

· Emirates Airline have to immediately return our Tickets money, which is Five Thousand US Dollars (5000/- US Dollars).

· Emirates Airline have to pay us a Penalty of not less than Fifty Thousand US Dollars (50,000/- US Dollars) for the trouble, mental tension , inconvenience, stress & Depression it has caused to us which has really affected our Health and because of which our Journey and stay in Islamabad was not Pleasant as well. It had badly affected our travelling schedule and since 1st April me and my Family we are spending Sleepless nights.
Kindly take this matter as top urgent and reply at your earliest. I would really appreciate an early response to my complaint from Emirates Airlines. I do hope that Emirates Airlines will live up to your name and reputation.
Regards,
Aziz

I would urge you to drop your demand for $50,000 compensation. It is ridiculous... although the conduct of both Emirates and the Travel Agency is lamentable.

His problems lie with the travel agent and the employees that commited at the crime. Emirates has everyright to disassociate itself with all PNRs from the travel agent. It could very well be that the employees from the travel agent that commited the fraud had NEVER infact paid Emirates. I am siding with EK in this. I have since this before. It happens alot here in the USA, were you pay 1 person for what you think is a vaild ticket and then what you do not see or realize is that there is a 3rd or 4th person hiding in the grass for his cut of the money you pay out and they cheat the airlines out of revenue. Yes Emirates has every single right to Cancel out the reservation and What the person does not realize is that all this happened without his or her knowledge and does not know there is an issue until the day of travel. He has to go back to the travel agent and ask to be made whole again for the inconvience.

Etihad also steals, but this posting belongs in Emirates thread

This thread seems like it belongs on the Emirates board. I have been chasing Etihad for months on money they owe me (fully refundable first class tickets), and apparently the only way is to go through the court system. Any advice, or any comments from others who have gone this way? The amount is less than $10,000 so we are going through small claims court. We are expecting this will force Etihad to pay us before it goes to judge, but maybe not given how resistant to paying what they owe us. We also wonder if Etihad will send an Etihad employee to our local court, or if it will be an agent.
