Delay? Need a new weatherman!!!
 
Our flight from Amarillo to Houston was delayed causing us to miss our connection to Orlando. We were told the delay was due to 'weather' and as such the airline refused to assist with the hotel stay which was required in Houston overnight. The day of our delay however we watched the weather intently and every single airport in the U.S. was 'green' with no delays on the FAA website and every single airport in the U.S. was without delays on the Unite Airlines website. I have never seen a day as free from delays as our day was, yet somehow we ended up with a weather delay. This seems to suggest that either the airline was lying to their desk personnel or the desk personnel was lying to us. This is inappropriate and unprofessional. If their is a delay fault should be acknowledged and dealt with not circumvented. I understand their are penalties from an airline perspective if delays are your fault...this is true in every other profession...plumbing, medicine, banking...horrible! I will take my business elsewhere.

Write to the DOT with your complaint asking them to verify with United the data. There is a link under Quick Links on this site.

Ditto on the "weather" excuse. TWICE in 2 days. Our family will NEVER fly United again.
