Complain about Airfare.com
 
My wife booked ticket from Los Angeles(LAX) to Kolkata(CCU) in the website Airfare.com. It was Korean Air from LAX to Mumbai (India) via Seoul and Jet Airways from Mumbai to Kolkata(India) departing LAX on 1/1/2013. Return fare was USD 1174.14 including taxes. Confirmation number came in the website after she provided credit card information. However, next day she received a mail from Airfare.com that there is a problem in the payment. Same day there is a phone call from Airfare.com that the problem is with the airlines who cannot issue the ticket at that price and so they are refunding the payment.
In my opinion , this is very poor customer service from Airfare.com for following two reasons.
1) Once the website shows confirmation number on a booking, it should not be changed. The word 'Confirmation' doesn't carry any meaning then.
2) Reason for cancelling the reservation is contradictory in email and phone call.
I recommend none to trust this website Airfare.com for any travel plan.

If they took your money and issued a confirmation, I think they may be in breach of contract. I would look carefully at the Terms and Conditions you agreed to and if you are in any doubt, contact your local State Attorney Generals Office.
