online reservation defaulted causing added fees
I purchased a ticket on Northwest Airlines website and after I confirmed the purchase the website defaulted the date to the following day. I noticed this later and called the airline only to be charged $122 for changing it to the original day. The ticket agent I spoke to was the one who explained that the website often defaults this way so the company is aware of the problem and not only have they not corrected it, they are charging customers for their error. I have written to them several times and they are refusing to take responsibility and return the money. This is the second time this has happened. They are charging me $100 for a day change and $22 because they claim that the day I want to travel would be more expensive even tho I did a search for the flight on my desired travel day and am aware of the ticket price. I feel robbed!

lots of luck:(:mad
I have written several times, attempted to call customer service number several times all to no avail. The last letter I received from customer service said "We will not reply to any further correspondence from you." I am wavering whether to get a lawyer now or not. I feel they are a horrible airline, never have been treated the way they have treated me. Best of luck in your attempts. If you are successful--let me know!!

Have you had a similar problem? It's happened to me twice now. I actually registered a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Transportation's Aviation Consumer Protection Division and Consumer Affairs. They all took it fairly seriously and wrote back. They said that even if they couldn't help me, they would have a history of similar complaints if anyone else files.
