UA421 Cancelled! Are you kidding me?
 
Booked 2 tickets a month ago for travel today. UA 421 non-stop to SFO at 6am. Cancelled! Why? Unacceptable! I was first told weather, then mechanical. Which is it? Where is the counter help! No person ever showed up. Called Premier customer service - Lisa Perez could only find one flight for my wife and I.

Only one flight available?! C'mon Mr. Smisek. What is up with your airline? Departs 2pm thru Houston arrive 9pm-all other flights sold out. My pre-planning doesn't mean anything, apparently!

Waste of my 1st vacation day. Seats were 8d/8f. Now two separate middle seats at the back of the two different planes I now have to get on.

Mr Smisek, third time this year! Two business trips - I can handle cause I fly your airline 80k - 100k per year.

NOW this one on my first day of vacation. I arrive in San Francisco 12 hours delayed. Thanks for nothing! So, I DO NOT get to have a nice lunch with my wife, I DO Not get to go Christmas shopping today and I DO NOT get to have a nice dinner tonight in San Francisco! ALL will not take place!! Yeah, I'm angry. How would feel?

My 1.2 million miles on your airline haven't been much help to me today, pal!!

At the time I am posting this, the only direct flight today is UA 1284 (I searched across all airlines). Even that one arrives at 9pm, and it only has 1 first class seat available, which doesn’t really help because you are traveling with your spouse.

I know you're frustrated, and I would feel the same. We're all traveling on one of the busiest travel days. If it brings you any comfort, they absolutely rebooked you on the best available option. Another airline cannot even get you there faster. File a complaint on their website. If it was truly cancelled due to mechanical reasons, you are entitled to compensation, which I’m sure you know about if you have flown 1.2 million miles. I hope that you get there on time tonight without any other troubles.

Thx. Had the tickets thru Houston as a primary. Went stdby for an 8:30am to SFO. Waited and got two tickets...then had them taken out of my hands as we began walking to the jetway. The last guy showed up...

Then, randomly, my wife started talking with a flight attendant (my wife calls her an angel) who helped us get scheduled on a 12:15 non-stop to SFO. This plane had mechanical delays for over 3 hours causing others to have to get on other flights. This helped to open up seating. Net, net, this flight will fly from Newark to Minneapolis to Denver and finally to SFO. Arrive 7:45 ish...we did get upgraded to first, though! Sitting on plane now...

ps, pilot just came on and said fuel gauge is broken in the main fuel tank which is why all the delays and multiple stops. The main fuel tank cannot be used since its gauge is broken.

Crazy!
