out of controle
Just a bad experience on multiple levels with out resolution. Flying through Newark on a return Xmas trip. I found my last leg canceled with no plane at the gate. That plane originated in Tennasee where the flight did leave for Newark after unloading passengers and reloading on a different plane. The arrival was delaied and no plane was at my departure gate inspite of arrived in Newark. United declared this a weather canselation. Newark was open as was my destination airport.
In trying to resolve this I called customer service, 25 minutes on hold, from the airport and was told I would have to talk to customer service. I waited for over one hours for customer service only to be told I must call customer service. I tried customer service by phone after the new years with no East coast storms. A polite customer service agent said it must be a weather cancelation and they are made by air traffic control. She said she had no way for me to contact them and no further info on my record. I asked for some further airline support as I had spent two nights in Newark and then driven home instead of flying as there were no confirmed seats for another 2 days. When she transfered me to someone with more authority to help my call was droped. I called back only to be dropped again. Called yet again and with wait times of 10 plus minutes gave up on being nice. There is a second structural problem with the rebooking process. Once canceled on can not both be on standby and hold a later confirmed seat. This allowed me to slip through the cracks for two days and still have a two day wate for a confirmed seat. |
