LED TV Screen broken by Gulf Air (GF104 & GF 56)

I traveled in Gulf Air and I was carrying brand new 40 inch LED TV which in company packing and with extra wrapping.

But after reaching home, I found screen was damaged. I called their customer care and complain about it.

They provided me one email address and asked me to send complete details on that email id. I sent email with all the details but not received any response. I again called customer care and then they forwarded email to their Central Baggage Tracing Department. After waiting for couple of days without any response, again I called them and they said they are investigating the matter and asked me to wait for 7 days.

But it’s already 22 days, still I have not received any proper respond. Now when I call their Central Baggage Tracing Department, no one attend the phone and their customer care says, I have to follow up with Central Baggage Tracing Department. I have sent many emails but no response.

It seems they are not at all bother about their customer... pathetic service and customer support... Beware people and not to travel through Gulf Air...

Also beware people not to ship TV's on airplanes. Bluntly, you will receive ZERO compensation for your loss and most likely they are not answering you as they are probably laughing at your request.

Most, if not all, airlines will tell you they are not responsible for any breakable item that is checked as baggage, or inside a checked bag, no matter how well packed.

Ok.. If this is the case, then why they give wrong information to their passengers??

Before traveling, I called them and confirmed and at time of check-in also, I confirmed with them whether it will be fine to check-in LED TV.

They said no problem, they will take care and many passengers do carry the TVs. I personally also saw many to carry the LED TV...

I believe then they must give correct information to their passengers, if they can't handle it..

I looked at Gulf Air's baggage Conditions of Carriage...can't find any exclusion for electrical items, beyond standard IATA Conditions. Only other requirement is that the items should be adequate packed. Be patient, but persistent...you may get a result.
