China Hainan Airline rip-off fee for refunds
 

I booked a refundable ticket from Paris to Beijing because I knew I might need to cancel the trip. I thought refundable meant I could get my money back. But according to Hainan airline, that wasn't true at all. I called and found out that they wanted to charge me 300 EUR (about 400 dollars) as cancellation fee, which was almost the full price of that ticket.( I know it was way cheaper than most refundable tickets, but that's what they said when I found this flight.) I tried to look for their policy on the website but the only thing i found was in terms and conditions, they said they might need to charge a "reasonable" fee for refund. No real numbers were mentioned anywhere about any kind of fee on their global website. Everything in terms of fees was vaguely described, no numbers at all. Does that mean they can charge any amount they want? This is so wrong. It was totally a rip off. I felt they set up a trap and wait for people to jump in it. I felt that way especially after I failed to submit the online complaint form on their website. Stay away from this trashy airline and booked somewhere else.
