Baggage fees not returned
 

Because of Customs slowdown at the Ft. Lauderdale airport after a flight from Cancun, Mexico, we missed our flight from FL to Detroit.
Spirit gave us a $279 refund for two which included a $24 in seat fees.
However, they kept the $50 baggage fees for two bags. They said baggage fees were non refundable as a matter of company policy.
If seat fees are refundable, why not baggage fees. The did not handle the bags in Ft. Lauderdale.
Anyone have any luck getting these fees back?
