United Flight #1082 - No Food

The following (in part) was sent to United Customer Care a few hours ago. I am interested in their response.

NO FOOD ON A 2+ HOURS FLIGHT!! HOW CAN THAT BE???

Earlier today, my wife & 13 yr old daughter was on United flight #1082 from Tampa (TPA) to Newark (EWR).

To my surprise, there was no food to purchase .... not even a can of Pringles. I was told by my wife that flight attendants had no answers for this situation.

My daughter became ill & close to fainting. One flight attendant did offer a cold towel for her head and a package of crackers from her personal carry-on.

I learned that the aircraft (Boeing 767-400) had been in Tampa since 5:00am .... this was a 2:00pm flight. What are the reasons that this aircraft could not be service within an EIGHT HOUR period. This is unbelievable & deplorable.

This is yet another example of poor service from United. Being non-caring and inconsiderate of its customers is inexcusable.

Finally, to add insult to injury .... upon landing, it was close to 20 mins before de-planing. Supposedly, there was no one to operate the jetway.

I'd be a bit more than irritated if there was no buy on board food.
What I would be a lot more concerned about is the health of your child. 2 hrs without food and she becomes faint? You seriously should see medical attention this is far from normal.

You should maybe see a doctor. This is the bull**** that makes me HATE this site. Would your family have fallen into a medical emergency if they had not eaten on their own in the 2 hour flight? Mod.....delete this kind of crap please.

I am somewhat surprised your daughter went hungry, as you seem to be full of baloney.

I would guess that if she was at home playing/hanging out with her friends for over 2 hours without eating she would be fine only because she was distracted rather than being told that she should be feeling poorly.
