Mistakenly nickname written on ticket booking, Flight no. EY 0058
Dear Cazzi,
Last saturday 05, Oct-2013 I did an online ticket booking for me and my wife to Indonesia, via Tripair agency (their office is in Greece). By mistake I typed my nickname: MARCEL, i/o my passport name: MARCUS MATTHIJS, though the surname is written correctly: WIECKARDT. I noticed this and tried to change it within a second, but seemed the site took the first wrong name as appeared on the print out ticket. Immediately I called the agency. Since then, after some ping-pong messages between me-agency-Etihad personnel in Greece, lead us to nowhere but do the cancellation with non-refundable, and reissue a new ticket. I find that ridiculous as I would wish to go on fly with Etihad, and most importantly that I can still travel together with my wife. Like in other people's cases in this forum, of course I am willing to pay the cost for this name changing as I admit the mistake is mine. I have read all the threads, I noticed there was even a worse case of wrong surname, had been resolved smoothly. I do hope I could also get a positive feedback and news, and I thank you in advance. Best regards, M. Wieckardt |
