Horrible flight accident, Delta doesn't care about their passengers.

I was on Delta flight #DL56 on 12/21/2011 from Hartsfield Airport where my final destination should have been Prague. Due to no fault of my own, I slipped on something, fell and fractured my ankle and ruptured a disc in my back. I was treatded well by two physicians that were on the flight. When the flight landed, I had to wait over 30-minutes before they could get the correct people to get me off the plane. The delta crew expected me to walk off the plane with a dislocated, fractured ankle. I had surgery in Amsterdam and had to remain there because I had to wear a cast. Delta denied any liability and just tossed me aside. Since the accident I have been disabled and unable to work. Delta claims it was not their fault, and because of this, I have lost everything including my home. When you get on a flight you expect to have a safe enviroment, but they failed me badly. So I would say to Mr. Allen B. Haney, Vice President at USAIG, would you treatment your family members in this manner. I was not even given the courtesy of thanking the physicians that took care of me. The only thing delta did was say sue me, in which they would claim jurisdiction and try the case in the country in which the incident occured. The cost for that would be between over $100,000-$200,000 and I would have to find an international attorney and I would have to pay them. How crazy is that. How was I suppose to afford to hire an attorney. I was bullied and this has caused me great mental stress. I bet the cargo was treated better than I. Passenger be aware of thing such as this when you travel on Delta Airlines.

What did you trip on, and was there a defect with the aircraft that caused you to trip?

Horrible flight accident

Delta claims that they did not find anything that would cause the accident. I hit my head on something so there is still a lot that I can't remember. My memory is not what it used to be,

Thank you//

Ella,
I hate Delta, but you have to be realistic. Just because you tripped on their aircraft, didn't make it their fault. By your own admission you can't cite the cause, and your memory of the event is impaired. Did you travel with insurance? I don't think you have a case I'm afraid

bad accident too, but nothing like yours

Shocked to hear of your situation. Hope you recover. I too fell in a delta flight 1135 Detroit to Atlanta Thursday August 14, 2014. I was crammed in against the window seat by a big fat guy. I could hardly drink a soda and couldn't move my legs for 2 and 1/2 hours. When I got up to get out my legs were frozen and I fell first step and crashed my knee into the next seat, breaking it (the chair) and landing on the floor of the plane. A captain, who was flying as a passenger asked me if I was O.K. and I replied "no", as I couldn't get up. They helped me out and put me in a wheel chair. They wisked me off and saw I got on a hotel shuttle, never mind asking me if I wanted to file an accident report.

The next day I came back hobbling on a crutch, in a lot of pain, still not able to walk much. Asked to make an accident report, some manager came and called the fire department rescue who asked me if I wanted to go to the hospital. I didn't feel it was life-threatening so declined, but asked for a free flight to Austin, as my wife is here and is a Chinese doctor. The Delta manager said no.

She has been treating me with everything she has from deep tissue massage to acupuncture with no lasting results. X rays with a sports doctor here suggest possible nerve damage, but need further tests. In the meantime, I can barely walk with a cane, am not going to be able to go back to China and resume my teaching and am faced with medical bills and no income.

I intend to sue Delta at least in small claims court for negligent seating, as I did come in with a cane for the chronic arthritic pain I already had in my leg...but that hadn't stopped me from going up and down five flights of floors to teach in China...and now I can't put up my one leg without excruciating pain.
