Increase the baggage limit

I am not sure why only Air France has limit of just one baggage from North America to Asia. All other flights allow two 23 kg baggages. Its not that they are reducing the flight ticket because of it. Every year we visit India and we never had any problem with any other flight like this. Our round trip vacation is for 3 weeks and one bag is not enough in anyways. There is an allowance of 2 bags from April 17th onwards from flights originating from India to USA only which is totally ridiculous. We are going this time for a wedding and I can't carry anything with this limit. There is a charge of 75$ per side per person. which makes me pay $300 extra for 2 people round trip. This is just for economy. Please have some courtesy Air France. Most of the people fly in Economy. I am not asking for any special treatment, but every other flight are providing this basic facility so why not Air France.

Since you seem so upset with both AF and Spirit over baggage policies, why don't you just book on these "other flights" that allow more baggage?

Did you check AF website for baggage allowance before booking your flight? Just a cursory glance across a few major airlines suggest the charges would have been similar or more:
AA - 1 Bag free. 2nd bag $100
United - 2nd bag $100
Delta - 2nd bag $75/$100
Lufthansa - 2nd bag Euro 75/150
BA - 2nd bag free to India.

As you can see, among the major non-Asian airlines, your best bet would have been BA. If people really want airlines to act, they need to stop buying the cheapest airfare and rather evaluate the full cost of a trip. Then compare that cost against other airlines and go with the airline that provides the best cost-to-value ratio. In absence of such an approach, the airlines will continue to "trick" you.

Oh and lest you think otherwise, I completely and utterly hate Spirit to the extent that I will never fly with them. I despise their attitudes towards customer service, and even more importantly, I find they are NOT the "cheapest" way to fly for me.

baggage fees

Pls see that all middle east carriers also provide 2 baggages free... yes I opted for cheapest flight available as it does not make sense to pay more than 1300 per person for round trip to India
