Blackmailed at check in by US Airways, ticket booked through AA
So I booked a long distance international flight on Japan airways through AA. It turns out the first leg of my journey was on US Airways instead of AA. For international flights, AA allows 2 free checked in pieces of baggage (Japan airways allows 3), but they somehow didn't tell US Airways that I was traveling long distance. The US Airways agent at the counter refused to allow me to board unless I paid a 200$ baggage fee for my extra luggage since the first flight was a domestic hop. Even though I showed her my itinerary for long distance she refused to let me check in. She even told me to my face that if I don't pay the fee I'll miss my flight, basically blackmailing me for 200$.
What a load of BS. |
