Surname Change due to marriage
 

Hello,

I have put myself in a worse situation, but lack of a common sense remedy makes me repent to have chosen this airline..

I booked return flight for my family from Chennai, India to Paris, France. The ticket was booked through cleartrip.com. I was stupid in not noticing that the portal's data base populated my wife's last name with her maiden name by the auto populate thing of the travel portal. Her passport got changed to reflect my family name as her last name recently. Ticket was booked yesterday, and i am calling the customer service of both etihad and cleartrip, and i am being thrown back and forth between them and caught up.

An etihad employee gave me wrong information on the phone and assured me the name change can happen from cleartrip's end. But fact has turned out that he didnt know what he was talking about.

Etihad tells me last name change will cost me $75 per character. My damn last name is big...it will cost me 1,500 Dollars..hate myself for this mistake now.

Next worst thing..this ticket is not refundable, i will not get a penny back for cancelling this ticket. :mad:

Etihad...when your employee can be silly and disoriented in a conversation and make false promises, why am i not being forgiven for an error???????

I have her previous passport with that maiden name of the ticket!!

I will never fly etihad again and will recommend my friends to stop flying if i dont get a fair resolution.

The itenary is FAALLO for any one's reference. :mad:
