South African Airways Predatory Pricing
 

My daughter and I are Booked with South African Airways JFK-JNB on Apr.2 returning Apr 9 and have bought these tickets. I want to add SA flight JNB to VFA on Apr 3 returning SA BBK-JNB on Apr 7. If I buy direct fare is $356.20 extra each but must go through customs on arrival in JNB and recheck in. I only have 2:45 between arrival from New York. Better solution is to connect international to international. South African wants to charge $390 each to do this as $90 fare difference plus $300 change fee even though original flights are unchanged. Penalty of $34 each is predatory as I am forced in the alternative to leave and recheck-in. Supervisor Juannita prefers I use another airline rather than just charging me the $356.20 fare that new passenger pays. This intransigence and poor customer service is a good reason to avoid South African Airways.
