Customer service does not speak english
In July 2008 I wanted to use my AMEX companion ticket to go from ATL to JFK, I called the number on the certificate and the first person I talked to did not even understand what a companion ticket was, I asked for someone else they hung up. I called back and got another person that understood very well but we had a HARD time with “Sunday vs Monday” so I made the reservations and paid for them but was not sure how well the process went. I tried to call back several time to speak to an English person but felt they got offended so I drove to the ATL counter ( 1 ½ hour each way) and was told all was well but that they needed another $50.00 since I had used the counter service even if it was just to confirm, I paid it but I really do not feel that it was justified in anyway.
