AirTran - horrible customer service
My family & I were traveling on vacation from Denver to Burlington, VT & back. We noticed that every flight we took was overbooked which seemed a little strange. On the way back we landed in Baltimore for a 2 hour layover & were informed that our incoming flight would be delayed an hour due to weather. It landed 1-1/2 hours later and just before we started to board the plane we were informed that there was an air traffic delay & then another weather delay and then about 11:00pm the flight was cancelled due to mechanical problems. We tried to get on the next flight but were informed that another flight would not be available for 3-5 days. They made no apologies & didn't even offer us a hotel room. We spent the night in the Baltimore airport (myself my wife and 3 & 9 year old children)because we were told there may be a flight available in the morning, there wasn't. In the end we ended up purchasing 4 tickets from Southwest airlines for over $1500 to get home to Denver. We are currently diputing the AirTran charge with our credit card.
