Jet2 - Booking

How is it allowed that on first viewing, the flights I am interested in are £39.99 each way. Thats £79.98 The next screen after flight selection, Base Fare £79.98 Taxes £33.50 The next screen prompts you to enter your name, and lo and behold, your luggage is now a luxury extra! the prices are now: Base Fare £79.98 Taxes £33.50 Bags £15.98 After entering your name, it kindly adds insurance which you have to locate a button to remove... Base Fare £79.98 Taxes £33.50 Bags £15.98 Travel Insurance £6.99 The next stage, you can choose seats so that if you require, you can sit next to the wife... Base Fare £79.98 Taxes £33.50 Bags £15.98 Seat Selection £9.98 Travel Insurance £6.99 Total £146.43 Nearly there now, but wait! Base Fare £79.98 Taxes £33.50 Bags £15.98 Seat Selection £9.98 Fuel Supplement £14.00 Travel Insurance £6.99 Fuel supplement! Total is now £160.43 After ten minutes of messing about i now find the price of a £80 return flight is £160.43. i click the X in the top right corner and go elsewhere. How is this allowed? I will not even bother to consider them an option any longer.

PS i see this is really horrible to read now, although i spaced everything out whilst typing, for some reason this forum has just disregarded my nicely formatted post.

It's allowed because you are flying one of those really cheap airlines, that charges you for everything. Excluding fuel and taxes which should be part of the ticket, the only thing i would gripe about is the fact that you have to pay extra to get two seats together.

You didn't complete the purchase

There were even more surprises in store.. you were going to be charged for using your credit or debit card to buy the ticket, even though there is no other way of paying. The EU has just made it illegal to do this kind of switch and bait advertising, but it is only required to show the price without "optional" fees. As sitting together, checking in a bag, etc is optional, they will continue with this rip off. This type of switch and bait trick was started by Ryanair and is infecting the whole industry, but by the time you have finished with all this nonsense the mainline carriers like BA are often cheaper. Sadly, BA has decided to abandon everywhere in the UK outside of London, so we are stuck with the lo-cost nightmares.

Sheesh.........this person is now complaining about an airline complaint forum. Where will it end? Everyday I'm more and more glad I quit.
