Delta & Northwest Flight# Confusion

Beware of checking in with Delta as they are issueing boarding passes with nonexistent flights on them, that in their internal business model is the same as a Northwest flight.

The problem is the Delta flight number is never assigned a gate, and they don't tell you which Northwest flight that you are actually on.

Go to Northwest to check in and everything should be fine, but it said Delta all over my itinerary and I went to Delta by mistake instead of Northwest.

In my opinion Delta is run by a bunch that don't really care about anything but trying to save money, don't care for customers, I don't expect that they will be in business long, or they will be asking for a government handout as people won't put up with their bad treatment.

Just my 2 cents!

Sounds like a codeshare issue. If it says DL with a four digit flight number starting with a 9, it's a NW airplane. Somewhat confusing but if you look a bit closer, somewhere it will say "operated by NWA".

Delta has already been bankrupt, but "emerged" later as the largest airline in the world, protected from competition, having screwed their employees and passengers. I wouldn't hold your breath on the US Government allowing market forces to work on the airline industry.

Delta acquired 100% of Northwest and the Northwest name will slowly disappear.
