Skywest Airlines St. George, Utah
I made the mistake of flying Skywest Airlines and it was not by choice. United Airlines contracted with Skywest. On the flight I was pushed by flight attendant Mike. When I asked for his supervisor, he said I am done with you and stormed off, a few moments later he came back and said to me "I will deal with you in a few minutes." I do not like to be pushed or threatened, he never did come back and deal with me.
After exiting the plane I went to the first ticket counter and demanded a Skywest manager. As I waited the flight crew came off. The supervisor arrived at about the time the female attendant, pilot (John Ryan) and flight attendant Mike. I think the supervisor's name was Brian Wall he said he was a shift supervisor at Skyway. I started speaking to the supervisor when Mike and John Ryan came up to me and tried repeatedly to interrupt me as I spoke to the supervisor. I had no idea who John Ryan was (he had a name tag on) and he proceeded to yell at me. I tried to speak to the supervisor but John kept demanding I answer him. I asked the supervisor why he was letting 3 people prevent me from filing a complaint with the airline about the child in the seat next to me and Mike's assault and threat. John said he was going to have me arrested and demanded to know what I di dtohis crew on the plane! I as the PAYING customer have a right to demand this be investigated. And I owed no explanation to John Ryan. Finally after 10 minutes of this trying to speak to the supervisor and the 3 of them interrupting the supervisor told them he was going to speak to me alone! That should have happened immediately. At the beginning the supervisor also started to write this down on his hand! An investigation, really? When after e washed his hand! The supervisor gave me two phone numbers one for Skywest and one for United and said call them to make te complaint. The phone numbers were for reservations! Unbelievable no option to file a complaint just do more business with them. The airline never investigated this serious incident. In addition the person in the seat next to me had a child that was too big to fit in the seat. The child's legs extended into mine and they kept kicking me. In addition the child kept grabbing my stuff and at me. This went on all during the flight. Those seats are so small there was no reason that adults should not have paid for another seat! The flight attendants did nothing about it! I deserve a refund for this and an investigation into the conduct of the airline flight crew that was unacceptable. And the child and adult were a safety violation. After writing an email to the airlines. I got a canned response saying that none of it happened and I was a liar. Though in the closing to their letter they said please comeback and do more business with us. I responded to this email telling them I expect an investigation accountability and apology. I recieved a threatening email back from their legal counsel Todd Emerson telling me I can not speak about this anymore to anyone at Skywest or elsewhere or he will"take care of me." I responded I do not put up with threats. He replied o my email by accussing me of making obscene gestures on the flight for no aparent reason to a crew that was "very polite" and accussed me of being drunk. He then dismissed it all as me having a bad day. My day was fine until I did business with Skywest. And I did not drink that day. I do not drink alcohol and to make false allegations personal attacks and character assasinations about me is slander. This airline has violated the law and gotten away with it. At least I will report them to the FAA. |
This is all very easy. What did the police say when you went to file a report for assault? And with the threatening letter from the legal dept., what did your attorney or the police say to that?? Let the police handle the assault and let your attorney handle any civil case. Keep records of every contact.

You might wanna start with what started all the commotion, because you leave out a huge chunk. Like, what's this about the child in the seat next to you? Did he simply pushed you? were you seated? in the walkway? were there witnesses etc? That would also help.
If you're gonna persue this legally, I would start by not posting your complaint, if by chance the airlines people are reading this site (and I'm sure they are) They will rip this story apart and make you out to be the bad person. And that goes out to anyone, don't post your complain online if you're gonna persue matters legally. |
mmmmm,
well, as you know, I would ordinarily side with the passenger..but this complaint has a tone which suggests that all may not be what it seems.... Quote:

Ok, so it sounds as if you were seated next to an infant, seated on the lap of the parent. The FAA requires children over the age of 2 to be seated in their own seat, which means the child who was "too large" was below this age. Whilst I agree with you that all infants should have their own seat, in an approved child seat, unfortunately the FAA has decided against this stipulation. If there was no other seat available for you to move to; then your complaint in this matter is with the parent of the child. It is their responsibility to control the child and ensure that the child does not cause you discomfort. |

Abusive and unhelpful posts
Jetliner's post #5, in this thread, is a prime example of the almost predatory, and definitely unhelpful, posture some of the 66% of this board take when an airline is accused of abusive and/or illegal acts. Jetliner COULD have phrased his comments along the line of: "There's something here I don't understand, could you explain..." Instead Jetliner launched into his usual ballistic mode. The authority of an airline has been challenged. Therefore "helfulness" is out the window, and the accuser must be "crushed."
As I said in a previous post: Even if this guy is making this whole thing up, and never even set foot on a SkyWest plane, "attack"-style posts, like Jetliner's discourage others, with complaints, from making posts. The fear being--will I get more of the same abuse I got on the plane, or at the airport? Jetliner's post #5 reported as abusive and unhelpful. |
Butch....obviously we do not know exactly what really went on here, as jimworks said, we don't know the whole deal about the kid other than he is too big to fit in his seat and was bothering her, and we dont know what the "push" was like, for instance was it an accidental push where he turned around in the tight area and didn't see her, a soft push where nothing was meant, or if it was a push with intent?
and as said before, i will deal with you doesnt make it a threat unless it was said in an aggresive tone and had meaning behind it, which didn't seem like anything happened since she said that he didn't "deal with me" if it was a non issue than why would the pilot go to his FA's help, i understand that you want to defend "family" but if its a small thing and where nothing happened than the pilot wont go out of his was just to yell at someone. I don't really see how jetliner's post was abusive and/or unhelpful.......true a passenger won't know if it was investigated or not, defined what the legal terms were (minor but showed that it wasn't slander) so i dont see how what he/she said was negative in anyway theres two sides of every story |
It's very possible that the flight attendant could have been serving drinks, or just walking down the aisle when turbulence hit, and as he lost balance trued to catch a seat back, but his hands landed on the passenger instead.
That's the big question with this in the first place - what were the details of the push? What lead up to this? Mars: Butch seems to think that I've been going around reporting a bunch of his posts, so it would seem a *** for tat thing. What's interesting is in another post, I had asked him to elaborate as to why he thought it was me. He has yet to answer. (Not saying it is or isn't, just why he seems to think this) Now back to our regularly scheduled program........ |

Any of you on here holier-than-though poeple have the nerve to call me a liar? None of you were there. I do not have to explain, beg, defend or justify myself to anyone of you. And the airline did send the lawyer after me. I will not be shut up in the USA I am a taxpayer and paying cuosmter of thta rotten corrupt arrline and I PAID for the right to share my experience wit hthem. He pushed me. and he said "....deal with you.." in an aggressive snarly harsh tone. That statment in the context of what was happening most definitely was a THREAT!

And the airline did send the lawyer after me. I do not lie. I will not be shut up. In the USA I am a taxpayer and paying customer of that rotten corrupt airline. I PAID for the right to share my experience with them. He pushed me there was no turbulance no serving drinks etc. It was a direct push the woman next to me who's child was on me saw it she would not be an objective witness as she and her child were a problem I made clear to the airline the attendant and she knew it since she was sitting right next to me! Do you think if someone were complaining about your child on them you would say to the airline oh yes I am guilty or would you attack the customer complaining? Think about Einsteins! The attendant said "....deal with you.." in an aggressive snarly harsh tone. That statement in the context of what was happening most definitely was a THREAT! No "huge chunk" was left out it is very clear why the attendant did this I was not happy with the child or his poor rotten customer service and I told him I wanted to speak to his supervisor. I also know for certain this was not investigated by the airline.
Also all of you on here who chose to viciously attack me never address the part about how the pilot - who was flying the plane and not in the last row of the plane where I was during the entire flight or un-boarding - chose to inject himself at the gate and attack me without even knowing anything because why? I complained about a Skywest employee. He never stopped to listen it was go for the jugular no one messes with Skywest! Again none of you brilliant people who took their side looked at this complaint as the customer paying for a service trying to file a complaint or see a supervisor. All of you may happen to love John Ryan, Mike and Skywest etc great for all of you I do not and as a U.S. citizen taxpayer and paying customer of the airline I have the right and will a complaint! I fyo udo not like it I don't care! For Godsakes READ this website address AIRLINECOMPLAINTS.ORG! It is not PRAISEAIRLINES.ORG or WELOVESKYWEST.ORG!!! |
So after 3+ years, what was the result of the court case?
