Improving for elite travelers?

I've been traveling DELTA for the better part of a decade. For most of those years, I always felt that while none of my trips were pleasant, they were "adequate." Over the last six months, however, I have noticed gradual improvements to the trip quality. As a person who travels more than 150k miles per year (330k last year), I have seen it all. "Don't Expect Luggage To Arrive (DELTA)," damage, cancelations, etc.

There are two areas DELTA can still improve;
(1) handling known flight cancelations (i.e., those that are canceled more than a few hours before the flight), They should call, instead of just emailing, if you've checked in.
(2) food/beverage quality is lacking, even for paid meals.
