Flight rescheduled for arrival 7 hours late
On Friday, July 16, I was supposed to fly Delta leaving at 8 a.m. from Indianapolis and arriving at noon in Buffalo. At 5 a.m., I got an automated phone message that said my flight was rescheduled--with a new arrival time of 7 p.m.--that's 7 hours later than planned. This was to be a 3-day trip and I would arrive 7 daytime hours late. When I tried to call Delta to change the new schedule, the message said Delta was not receiving calls. So I went to the airport and an agent changed my flights to arrive at 3 p.m.--a little better. When I went to board the earlier flight, I was told I was on standby. I didn't get on--the flight was full. I tried 2 more standby flights that day--all full. All day, Delta agents were rude and unhelpful. Though a number of passengers volunteered for later flights and received $400 vouchers for doing so--I received nothing, not even an apology.

Outrageous, but Delta really are the worst for customer service of all the mainline carriers. You should switch to another carrier.

An emerging pattern??
When I tried to call Delta to change the new schedule, the message said Delta was not receiving calls.
JUST ME: This is, at least, the second post I've read where someone is complaining about having trouble reaching Delta reservations on the phone. What's going on? Is phone contact limited to just those customers with triple platnum status and special phone numbers? Not everyone carries a laptop around with them. So telling people to go online is not a cure-all. Was the Northwest effort to restore US-based call center staff abandoned after the merger with Delta? Finally, for most organizations, "computer maintenance" takes no more than 2 hours out of every day. Is this the case with Delta, or not? |
I think Justme is keeping his head down... the barrage of complaints is becoming overwhelming. The truth is, this airline is TOXIC but thinks it is too big to fail. It is arrogant, and the culture is now so nasty, the staff have no pride. They don't care and it shows.
