Martinair

We won tickets to Amsterdam from Martinair, Martinair recommended us some dates for us to take our trip, on our return date we were told by the counter employees in Schiphol airport that our tickets were Staff -meaning standby 25-. No one could tell us why our tickets were issued as Staff when clearly none of us works for the airline. When passengers with seat numbers assigned boarded the plane, KLM crew and staff where next on the list, of course we didn’t make it. Counter employs told us that the situation was going to be the same for the next flight the next day.
Day 2
After sleeping at the airport, it was the World cup final and no rooms available in Amsterdam, we went through the same experience as the day before, but this time after being bumped again our Luggage was lost and told that we couldn’t file a report because reports are done at final destination.
Day 3
Without luggage and the next flight to Orlando being on Thursday we took our chances on a flight to Cancun the next day, on arrival to Mexico we filed a report with a very friendly Martinair staff. We missed the last Flight to Miami and had to look for a Hotel in Cancun after a horrible 10 1/2 hour flight.
We finally made it to Miami only to be told that our bags where still "lost"

How did you win this competition? Did you pay to enter it? If you bought a ticket to enter the competition, you may have some remedy. It is unlikely you will have a remedy if there was no cost for entering, unless you won the prize as part of an incentive to purchase something.

At the company Christmas party

It sounds as if this was not a public competition in the true sense, although clearly non-employees were allowed to attend and/or enter. However, all "free tickets" for employees are on a discretionary basis. I think there is little you can do. I don't think MartinAir have any legal obligation to you I am afraid. I guess these "free" tickets have come at a price.. hopefully less than a full priced trip to Orlando would have cost.

Finally we agree, Mr. Worcs. A complaint about an airline that really shouldn't be a complaint. Poor Martinair. I hope the OP will cut them some slack.

lol.. I think we might have agreed before... but not often!
