FREE Voucher
Recieved a FREE Voucher form the CEO of JetBlue in April 2010, went to use it for a trip in December and was told there are no dates that I can use the FREE Voucher. FREE vouchers, should be just that....FREE...don't put limitations on a FREE Voucher. I ended up having to buy a third ticket [and there were 30 available] to join the rest of my family. So for $394.00 additional out of pocket JetBlue will never get any more of my money...I travel on average 12-15 times a year!
Hope the FREE Voucher rip off was a good idea, as they now have lost more money than the FREE ticket was worth. |
Anything that is considered "FREE" will have limitations. Airlines are not about giving away free stuff. Sorry, but they're a business. It sounds like you were trying to fly around Christmas. That is the worst time to try to use a free voucher. Most flights are already booked solid. You received the voucher directly from the CEO?
|
As it was mentioned above me, NOTHING in this world is free. Plus, they at least gave you a voucher, and you could travel around christmas. Nothing is available during that time. Be lucky you actually got something. And, you can't get a voucher directly from the ceo, so I'm calling poppycock on this one.

the CEO was on the plane from Buffalo to NYC, aksed a question about the name of the plane and two people got FREE Vouchers directly from him.
asdditionaklly when I went to use voucher I just purchase two other tickets for family members and the plane was more than half empty! Ive attached a picture of my son and CEO form the same flight. |

These "free" gifts can often backfire. A few years ago, Ryanair awarded their millionth customer free flights for life. She used the concession about 4 times per year for the next 9 years. Suddenly, in the 10th year, Ryanair changed their mind. When she complained to the CEO of Ryanair, he called her personally and abused her, verbally. Although he subsequently denied this in court, the judge found the CEO of Ryanair "unconvincing". He awarded the customer £50,000 in compensation for the loss. Perhaps Mr. Ballsmith should try suing!! |
50k pounds probably made both sides happy. She would have spent more than that over her lifetime unless she was older than dirt but 50k in a lump is a nice bonus.

She was 22 when she won.. perhaps that is part of Ryanairs calculation....

Well, knowing jetblue with there "New buisness image", I can actually see that. I don't even know why airlines give out these things, I've had one once as well, lets just say it didn't go as planned......
