Continental shut down its customer care center after cancelling my flight

I am one of travellers stuck because of snow blizzard .

1) My flight for tuesday was cancelled although the airport is open.
2) Continental never informed me about the cancellation

Biggest Problem though
1) After cancelling flights in this disasster, they shut down the customer care center and put a tape stating that due to call olume they could not take calls. 10 hrs non stop 4 of us tried to place the call getting same message and then call would be cut off. The least they could have done is take customer calls

2) They rescheduled me wrongly to travel to Frankfurt instead of Denver so my travel agent wouldn't cancel my ticket. Otherwise there were options available to me which I could have exercised and taken maybe a flight of my choice from a different airport in washington or philadelphia

I don't know where you are getting your info from but the New York city airports were shut down Monday and early for Tuesday. Even when the airports did open back up they have to get the planes there and not all are going to make it. Also in case you didn't realize it you were not the only person trying to call. There was probably such a backlog of calls that they couldn't take anymore. They also probably had their reservations folks buys rebooking people.

The mis booking was squarely their fault, but you travel agent should have been able to still make the change. You need to talk to your travel agent on that part.

I also had my flight cancelled due to the blizzard and they STILL are not accepting calls - 6 days later.
