How to sue Delta
I have a problem with the way Delta handled the travel of an infant, in that they were not able to print a paper ticket in Beijing. I tried many ways to get through to Delta over the phone but it is basically a waste of time as I am getting the runaround. I just finished a call with a supervisor Kay at Seattle who simply hanged up on me, she lied, she told me she could not transfer me but she did not know the same group transferred me half an hour before that.
The reservation was done through Expedia but it was Delta that billed me so I think I have to sue Delta. The flight started from Beijing China then went to Osaka and finished in Seattle. The reservation was done on a computer in Alameda county, CA. Am I correct I have to sue Delta in small claims court in Alameda county as the computer transaction took place over there? If not where do I have to file suit? I am out about $130. |
You can sue in several places including the place where you were when you made the internet reservation, the place of embarkation, the place of destination and the place where Delta has its offices.
But I can't tell what is your problem other than Delta did not print your ticket which you booked with expedia. If you book on line, it is your duty to print your ticket. But even without a printed ticket, for an on line booking you can just walk up to the airline check-in counter or their check-in kiosk and check in. |

Small claims court and you will win! However, you can also help by relaying your issue in the public forums. It is poor service and you can change it! Post your story on every complaint site that you can find. Google, "Delta complaints" and post your story in as many places as you can. Tell your friends and ask them to tell their friends. Eventually, there will be a change. Until about 4-5 years ago, this was not the case with Delta. They were the best. Sadly, not so much these days.
