Spirit Airline NEVER AGAIN!
 
I flew the family from Atlanta, To Cancun via Ft. Lauderdale. Everybody on this airline was rude and unprofessional. Especially in the home base Ft. Laurdadale. The people are unbelievable JERKS! EVERY leg of EVERY flight was LATE! Causing connection nightmare and rush. Baggage checker at Ft. Laudadale security was a Witch! After the ticket counter approved all of our personal carry ons, the spirit Witch just before security tried to make us go back and recheck! a democrat no less, Unbelievable how little attention is payed to hiring anyone with an inkling of common sense!
Oh by the time you get nickled and dimed to death. Delta is much cheaper!!! and certainly Airtran. I heard the same from every passenger
"screw this airline, NEVER again!!" Crappiest customer service EVER!!!!

Nick Rahall of West Virgina current vice chairman on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee if you have been wronged by this company.

The High Cost of Low Cost Airline Carrier – Spirit!
 
Left my home in Toronto at 9pm April 19th and drove to Niagara Falls, New York to catch a 2 am flight to Ft Lauderdale, florida for about $250 aboard discount carrier Spirit airlines. Arrive at the new and clean Niagara Falls International Airport and pay about $25 to park for a week. At 2 am, checked in, cleared security, the flight is delayed due to part replacement in Ft Lauderdale. At 3am the flight is cancelled due to stormy weather. There appeared to be no contingency plan in place, ie no being put on in a local hotel at Spirit's expense to wait for next flight, no we'll get you on another airline within an hour or two. Just go home and come back or we will refund this portion of the flight. Forget the inconvenience, forget the timing, forget the apologize, well I say forget Spirit. Abandoned and angry customers returned to the check in counter were one employee stolidly faced the mob. Without any support from other staff, management or company owners, this employee could offer nothing as his computer was not showing alternatives for the customers. At this point I left, without getting my $25 parking fee returned as no one was there to do a refund and drove to the Buffalo International Airport 20 minutes away in the dark and rainy night and readily borded a Southwest airlines flight for about $400 one way, ouch. I flew back a week later on Spirit and they did say they would refund about $125 or the departure portion of the trip. Apon arrival at the Niagara Falls International Airport I paid $65 to take a cab to the Buffalo International airport, $77 to exit the parking area although I thought I had paid another $25 to park there for a week upon arrival, then paid $1.00 for a toll and finally $3.25 to exit the USA.


Southwest $ 400 Good Points
  • + taxis 65 - the weather was great in Florida
  • + parking 127
  • + tolls 4.25
  • Total $ 596.25 Further less than good points
  • Minus 125 - the Spirit seats do not recline.
  • Grand tl $471.25
Better to fly from Pearson International.

You want Spirit to PAY YOU because the flight was cancelled? There was a storm, it got cancelled. Either drive home or stay and wait.
