Flight delay no explanation no advance notice

Southwest has delayed sending out messages regarding delays further and further. I have been on many SWA delayed flights and have received my phone or text msg regarding the delay withing 30 minutes of departure even when the delay is known for hours because the aircraft was delayed one or two cities before mine. The latest issue was on 5/28/11 LIT to DAL, the scheduled 5:55 pm flight. When I checked in about 4 pm I was told that the aircraft was delayed about 10 minutes out of Chicago, but that was easily recoverable. Once inside the terminal, at about 5pm I received and automated msg saying my new departure time was 7:55 pm. I immediately called the A List Preferred desk and they told me the aircraft was delayed in Milwaukee, a stop prior to Chicago due to weather. A few minutes later I received another automated call saying the flight was now delayed to 8:20 pm. I checked Weather.com and saw no issues with flight delays for MKE.

Delays

My husband is booked on the 4:15 flight out of New Orleans to Orlando to Ft. Myers every Thursday. The flight has been delayed for the last five weeks including tonight making him miss his connecting flight 3 out of the five times and probably tonight. Each time their excuse is equiptment issues. I wrote a letter to their customer service rep and spoke with headquarters last week who informed me they are working on the problem but we must understand that equiptment issues come up. Five weeks in a row is absolutely crazy. What is wrong with their planes. My husband will not use them again. They also never even contacted my husband by phone or text regarding any of the delays which are are suppose to do. He has been flying them every week for the last 6 months but will not fly them next weeks. :(
