Unable to Change Name / Bad Information Given
 
Okay,

So basically this is probably more of a valid push in the hopefully right direction.

I booked a ticket for me and my girlfriend back the other month, things got a bit rocky as some things do, and we decided to split.
Shes moved and there is no way of me getting in contact with her.

So with that, i had a spare ticket, and asked for a friend to come along who accepted. We went to travel agent to change the name of the ticket and we were advised this couldn't happen.

I've phoned up twice now, and been told different things.

We can't even cancel the ticket and get a credit.

What the hell is wrong with changing the name on a ticket, under these circumstances, and why the hell can i not cancel the ticket the and get it refunded to spend it on so i CAN get my friend to come with me.

Seriously this is ridiculous, i paid my money why in the blue hell can i not do this within 24 hours.
