Lost valet bag (and further info)
I was forced to valet (plane-side) a carry on bag at O'hare that wouldn't fit in the carry on the overhead carry on compartments. I got to my destination and no bag. How does this happen. It was put on a cart with several other valet bags. Obviously it either fell off of the cart or was just carelessly left on there. Well, after speaking to the American Airlines baggage department they informed me that if the weight restrictions on the plane are close they will start randomly leaving bags behind, however these usually happen to the checked baggage (that people have paid $25 a bag to ship). Something to remember before checking your bag, and that I think folks should be informed of. Anyway, I mentioned to the rep. that if they had pulled my bag off due to weight restrictions, wouldn't they know where it was? Apparently not since my bag still is in parts unknown. The only good thing I can say is that a few individuals at Sawyer Airport have tried very hard to get people at O'hare moving, but it seems to have not worked yet. Extremely unhappy with this information and overall American Airlines lack of professionalism.
