Etihad name on ticket
I booked a ticket for my sister online using the etihad website. Booking was completed and the credit card verified at a local office. Later I discovered in her passport she has the surname and middle names in the passport field ie 2 surnames. I booked using only the main surname. Called etihad and they informed me there is nothing they can do except to cancel the ticket and re-book a new ticket. This will cost at least zar1150. Does anyone else have any experience with this? The names and spellings are correct except there is a last part missing on the surname field compared to the passport. Example booked as John smith instead of John smith khan.

I would suggest she go the the airport where she will check in well in advance of the outbound travel date and ask at the ticket counter if she can travel on the ticket as issued or if it will need to be changed. Often the agent or a supervisor at the ticket counter has much more leeway with waiving reissue fees as it is a minor change and since none of the dates/flights are changing should not affect the price of the ticket.
