ETIHAD - Is surname change possible?
 

Hi board. This is my first post. Please let me know if anyone can help me.

I have booked MNL-LHR-DAC for an upcoming trip. Unfortunately I have entered my UK bankcard surname instead of my passport surname on my online booking. I am of the Sikh faith and my passport surname is SINGH. My real family name is SANDHU, which is ob all my literature (bankcard, statements, utility bills etc).

This was careless of me but I am not the best on computers when making online bookings.

I tried etihad customer service in Abu Dhabi. Initially they told me I could cancel and rebook at no additional cost. Next it was 200GBP charge. Finally they said you will have to cancel and rebook a new ticket at my own cost.

Is this the reality? The customer service confused me somewhat with 3 different definitions.

Any advice would be most gratefully received.

Dear Ballysandhu,

Thank you for your post. I have been advised that as of 01NOV 2011, all Etihad Airways offices are able to reissue tickets for name correction requests any time prior to departure of your outbound sector with a charge of USD75 or equivalent plus the Global Service Fee (if applicable).

The request must be for the same guest on the ticket and a passport copy is mandatory for all cases.

I will go to the Etihad office in Singapore as I have 5hrs stopover there en route to Philippines to get the amendment.
