AA Flt 922 - Delayed baggage
 

I was forced to valet (gate-side) a carry on bag at Miami because of a full flight and limited overhead storage. I arrived in La Paz, Bolivia and my bag was not there (along with about 25 others who were forced to valet). No explanation as to why our bags were not put on the plane. Since there is only 1 flight per day from Miami to Bolivia we were told that our bags would be on the next day's flight. My bag did arrive in La Paz the next day, however, it took AA 2 more days and several calls from me to forward my bag to my final destination in Cochabamba. When my bag finally arrived, I found an extra shoe, slipper and some costume jewelry inside that were not mine! Also, all the mail that I was taking to my daughter had been opened and taken from the envelopes. Next time I will fight to keep my carry-on with me!!
