United Lies about delayed flight
Flew on United 3-3-12 from STT-EWR. Flight was delayed over 50 minutes while we waited for late passengers who did not bother to show up with enough time. Captain made at least 3 announcements that we were waiting for late passengers "due to a computer problem". Meaning they just arrived and were being hurried through customs and security. The 90+ passengers who arrived with enough time seemed to not matter. Even after the door was closed, and we had finally taxied out to take off, the captain decided to RETURN TO THE GATE to pick up yet another late passenger. When I wrote United of this debacle upon my return, carefully spelling out what happened, their response was laughable. United actually claimed it was a weather delay!!!! I work in Air Traffic, and I told them there was absolutely no weather delay for this flight. I guess they think that it is better to accommodate a handful of inconsiderate passengers, and then lie to those who voice a complaint. Nice work United.
