WestJet has no fuel in Sint Maarten
 

On January 19, 2012, there was "no fuel" for WestJet flight 2653 at Princess Juliana Airport in Sint Maarten. We were diverted to Luis Munoz Marin Airport in Puerto Rico where the plane was refueled with all passsengers sitting on board. After takeoff to Toronto, cabin crew said they had run out of water. Did not offer scotch to replace water. Our four hour flight became six hours. Missed Toronto connection. Naturally, WestJet not responsible for anything.

As for the fueling part: As far as fueling an aircraft for a 3 1/2 hour to 4 hour round trip is not possible. Keep in mind that while you are sitting on the ground waiting for the aircraft to push back, the pilots are prior to any departure are weighing the aircraft.Every flight goes through a weight and balance calculation whch is luggale at ex amt of lbs + passengers at ex amt of lbs + a Zero fuel weight at ex amt of lbs + fuel to get to the destionation at ex amt of lbs and that tells the pilot whether or not the aircraft can be operated safely.

now if the aircraft is too heavy, the aircraft has to loose the extra weight.
As far as the staff for Westjet they are contract. There may have been a fuel shortage going on which does happen from time to time (not often but it does happen). I highly doubt that bizjets are given a higher priority over commerical flights.

As for the 2nd part: Are you serious......substitute an alcoholic drink for water??? There may have been children & infants on the aircraft, and I can see that going over really well, and lawsuits happening super fast. try fruit juice next time, or buy a bottle of water or two after security and bring it with you on the aircraft.

Of course she has, she works for an airline and they have taken sarcasm to levels previously thought unattainable. :D
