Well I don't know about your experiences. The last time I was comp'd a hotel room was in Maui. The agent never picked up the phone. A few key strokes and the hotel voucher was spit out of the same printer the boarding passes are printed from. Now I don't know about what happened while we were in transit from the airport to the hotel. I would hope whatever "inventory" they were looking at in the computer was accurate. It would have sucked to arrive at the hotel only to be told "no room at the inn!"
