actually almost all of the kids here in singapore are brought up by english aswell as their native language, so they are very fluent in both, the older generations have a little more difficulty but they are understandable and know what they are saying and talking about, all the road signs and everything is in english and so is the government papers and everything
english may not be the native language, but its being used as frequently if not more now in school and at home, than you may think
