Actually, for the sake of the OP, I would welcome being made a liar out of. That said, I think the days when one could put their trust in any US-based airline passed about three decades ago.

Regardless of the low statistical probability of being caught in a tarmac delay airlines have demonstrated they are capable of just about ANYTHING when it comes to tarmac delays. Still, I was impressed with some pro-customer statements the head of Sun Country Air made to the media. It will be interesting what happens when that executive's "check" is presented for "payment." And, yes, I know--Sun Country Air has limited routes and may still be in bankruptcy receivership.
