I kinda thought that was the deal. I went to spiritair.com and just clicking on thos "$9 Fare Club" fares results in a full-screen pop-up explaining exactly what it is and what it costs. No opt-out shenanigans here and there's no way the OP could have signed up for this in error. The other option is to pay $9 more for each segment and you don't get the "Fare Club" enrollment pop-up. I agree their gesture of the credit towards a future flight was a nice one which they did not have to do as the T&Cs of signing up for that "deal" are pretty straightforward.
