I agree. I have a problem with the airline refusing to take any responsibility for their cutomers basic travel needs.
If that is the case, agents should ask you each and every time you check in to ensure you have not packed valuables and state that they take no responsibility for the contents.
Thank you for your tip on reporting with the DOT. In the meantime, I will choose airlines that meet these needs.
