I showed up at 5:50 am for a 7 am domestic flight which was obviously overbooked and told that "the flight is closed" I had no baggage as it was only a day trip. I missed an important convention.
Alas, did I not mention that unless you "purchase a seat", you can't get a boarding pass before arriving at the airport.
I was told that I could not get a refund from the uncympathetic "customer service" rep nor his condescending "manager". I rushed to another terminal to try to get on a flight with another carrier but was unsuccessful.
Then I went home and read about airlinecomplaints.org in South Florida's SUN SENTINEL.
I hope to take this further to try to get a refund. I will be contact DOT.
I hope Orbitz and Travelocity read these posts.
