Yes.....now you're getting the idea. LCC's give nothing for free, especially food on flights. It's easy to sit back now and say you should have done this or that but really, I would have investigating the hell out of what the service was on the flight before I put my son or daughter on an airplane for a cross-country trip alone. At minimum, have her bring food with her.
As far as the statement about no staff, I don't believe it. People are there but they just might be RIGHT there. Where I worked before, we had work the airplane before we could go in and take care of customers. The staff was there but doing other things.
Airport security is just that, AIRPORT security. Nothing to do with the airline so shouldn't even have been mentioned.
And yes, you get what you pay for. LCC's you pay very little and get exactly that.
