You are reading posts on a complaint forum. Think of it this way there are maybe 1000 or so posts tops here when there are millions of customers. So that is a very small percentage of poor experiences when flying with airlines. I think how your flight was handled was done poorly however if flights aren't available pleading with a customer service guy on the phone isn't going to magically open a flight.
