i fly our military (they are truely a pleasure to serve on our flights and im completly honord to serve them). I was told by them that they have confirmed seats on flights (thats why its extremly important for my company to have an on-time/early arrival into DFW during our flights) so that our troops make their flights. HOWEVER, if they choose they can fly stand by on an earlier flight. MANY times i have seen American airlines upgrade a soldier to first class, i have seen a passenger give up his first class seat that he paid for a troop (gotta love that american spirit) and i have seen American airlines put a few of our troops on earlier flights for free.
