I would not book a flight if my husband and I could not sit together. I would book with another airline. I have learned from experience that if a flight is changed, you must get on line and re-pick your seats, or else you will get what's left over when you get to the airport. They couldn't care less if you are sitting with the person you are traveling with, and make no effort to pick seats accordingly.

We recently had our flight changed, so I immediately re-picked the seats. Then a week before our vacation, I was double-checking as I always do, and I found our seats were no longer together. I called Delta, and the dumb woman on the other end kept telling me seat assignments were not guaranteed, and the airline would not change other passenger's seats to put us back together. She said they did not change seat assignments after they were selected. I reminded her that OUR seats had been changed after being selected. I had a confirmation of the seats we were assigned, with the date they were assigned. I then asked her when the seats were re-assigned to the people who were NOW sitting in those seats. She wouldn't tell me.

I'm glad I checked in advance, because I was actually able to get an e-mail to the CEO, and I received a phone call the next day....with 2 seats together....with our ORIGINAL seats.
