I forgot to say, Corbel, that sitting in different places on a plane is NOT acceptable under many circumstances. If it is a business trip, or something, I probably wouldn't care. When it is a vacation you and your spouse have been planning for months, however, the whole idea is to get away and spend some relaxing time together. Many of our flights are very long ones, and I would much rather sit next to my loved one, than being sandwiched between two people I don't know. This is part of the vacation, and I planned it to be with my family. The airline should understand that, and a lot of the coplaints are because they don't care. As for getting to the airport 2 hours ahead to re-select seats, the plane in our case was full, and they would not get us seats together a full week ahead of time, until I e-mailed the CEO. This is only one of the many complaints I have against Delta, as the worst flight experiences I have ever had have been with them. I will never fly with them again.
