Default Not Allowed to Board

Very similar thing happened to me coming back from San Juan about 3 weeks ago. We were at the gate 15 minutes prior to departure and they had already reassigned our seats and shut the door. This is a clear violation of the posted signage at the ticket counter and each gate.

They never disputed the fact that we were there 15 mins prior to departure. They said we needed to be there 30 minutes prior to departure to ensure our tickets wouldn't be reassigned.

They basically do whatever they want and say "I'm so sorry that you missed your flight". My point of view is that I didn't miss my flight... USAirways gave my seats away prematurely, and in violation of their posted policy. They told us we could be there for 3 days before a flight opened up for us!!

It was the classic bureaucratic machine at work. I'm a very frequent traveler. Not only will I not be using USAirways, I'll spread the word to others. First time I've ever taken a stance like this against a company.
