Delta boards by zones, Zone 1 is First Class, Diamond, Platinum, and Gold, Zone 2 is Silver, Zone 3 & 4 is general boarding.
Pre-boarding is for passangers with dissablities and people traveling with infants.
As a Silver elite member you can still board before a majority of the passengers.
