Default Refund Request

On Sept 19th I needed to change my flight because of work issues. I called about 10pm on the 18th and was told I needed to pay $141 because the ticket was non refundable. I gave them my credit card # and booked a later flight for the evening of the 19th. Later that evening I received notification stating that my original flight was cancelled and need to be rebooked. I checked the website and found I was on the flight I requested. I then tried to get the change fee waived because they were going to rebook me anyway. They denied my request because they said the change, though made only hours previous to the cancellation, was voluntary. In my mind that is a crock. Wondering if I con find a way to get my money back?
